Dr. med. Volker Fass

Dr. Fassborn in Gelnhausen on 6.2.1952 took his doctor's degree in 1982 in Freiburg/Breisgau as Doctor of Medicine.

At the same time he terminated a successful career as a competitive sportsman and football player in the First and Second German League.

After successful specialist medical training at the Orthopädische Universitätsklinik Friedrichsheim (orthopaedic university hospital) in Frankfurt, where he specialized in Sport Traumatology, he became established as an orthopaedist in Freiburg in 1993 in the joint surgery with the well-known Freiburg orthopaedist, Prof. Dr. Walter Beck.

Since 1994 the scope of medical treatment has included orthopaedic operations both for in-patients and out-patients, with a main focus on knee-joint surgery.

As a former competitive sportsman and football player in the First German League, the medical activity conducted by Dr. Fass and his team at the Fontanaklinik focuses on the treatment of injured sportsmen, and due to his own previous sporting activity, this is largely in the field of meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries.
